Cabinet spraying in Edmonton: why a sprayed finish lasts
Most failed paint jobs fail at the prep. Kitchen doors carry years of cooking grease, and paint won't hold to it. We degrease, scuff-sand, fill dents and open grain, then apply a bonding primer before the colour coats.
Doors and drawer fronts come off and are sprayed flat, so the finish levels out with no runs or brush marks. Frames and box faces are masked and coated in place. Hardware goes back on only after the finish has cured enough to handle.

Usually 4–6 days in your home, plus time in our shop for doors. You'll have limited use of the kitchen while frames are coated and curing.
02How durable is it?+
With proper prep and a cabinet-grade coating it holds up to daily use. Like any paint it can chip from a hard knock; we can leave touch-up paint.
03What is the best paint for kitchen cabinets?+
A cabinet-grade coating over a bonding primer, sprayed rather than brushed. Wall paint stays soft and marks easily. The prep (degreasing and sanding) matters as much as the paint itself.
04Can you paint thermofoil?+
We don't recommend it. Thermofoil is a vinyl skin and paint won't bond to it reliably. New doors through refacing are the right fix.
05Will the oak grain show through?+
Yes, open-grain oak shows texture under paint. If you want a smooth look, grain filling adds cost and time. We'll show a sample.
06Refacing vs refinishing cabinets: which is cheaper?+
Refinishing is usually cheaper: $4,000–$9,000 for a typical kitchen, against roughly 40–60% of new cabinets for refacing. Refacing is the better choice when doors are thermofoil, melamine or damaged, or when you want a new door style.
