Matching

The hard part is making it match

A modification is only worth it if nobody can tell where the old kitchen ends. We bring a door or drawer front to the shop when we can and match colour, edge profile and gaps. Painted kitchens are easiest; we spray the new parts to your colour.

Discontinued thermofoil or melamine colours are the hardest. If we can't get a close match, we'll say so before you pay, and suggest an accent instead: a contrasting island or tall unit that looks intended.

  • Colour match from a removed door or drawer front
  • Same hinge and drawer system as the rest where possible
  • Honest call when a match isn't possible

Modification questions

01Can you resize cabinets for a new fridge?+

Usually. We shorten the upper above the fridge, trim or rebuild the side panel, or rework the opening. Send us the fridge spec sheet first so we know the exact size and door swing.

02Can you modify kitchen cabinets for a dishwasher?+

Yes. We remove or narrow a base cabinet to make a 24" opening, add a matching end panel or filler, and fit a panel to a panel-ready dishwasher. A partner plumber makes the water and drain connections.

03Can you match cabinets from a builder?+

Often closely, especially painted ones. With thermofoil and older melamine colours we'll show you a sample before you decide.

04Do you move plumbing for a new sink position?+

No. We build the cabinets; licensed partner plumbers move the lines. We coordinate the schedule.

05Is there a minimum job size?+

Smaller jobs usually fit better under our repair service. Modifications start at around $450–$500.
