Last updated: October 19, 2026

These Terms and Conditions apply to quotes, contracts and work by Boreal Kitchens & Cabinetry Inc. ("Boreal", "we", "us"), 15454 131 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5V 0A1, City of Edmonton business licence 9919234, and to use of this website. Your signed project agreement takes priority if it says something different.

1. Quotes and prices

  1. Prices on this website are ranges in Canadian dollars, before GST. They are a guide, not an offer.
  2. The final price is set after an on-site measure and design, in a written quote.
  3. A written quote is valid for 30 days unless it says otherwise. After that, material prices may change.
  4. GST is added to all invoices. Travel outside the Edmonton metro area is quoted separately.

2. Measure and design

  1. The on-site measure is a paid service. Its fee is credited in full to your order if you go ahead with us.
  2. Designs, drawings and 3D views we prepare remain our property until the order is paid in full. You may not use them to have the work built by someone else without our written consent.

3. Payments

  1. Payments follow three stages unless your agreement states otherwise:
  2. 30% deposit when you sign the agreement;
  3. 40% before delivery and installation, once cabinets are built;
  4. 30% on completion of installation.
  5. Financing may be available through a third-party lender, subject to its approval and terms.
  6. Late payments may delay delivery or installation. Ownership of cabinets and materials passes to you when they are paid in full.

4. Deposits and cancellation

  1. You may cancel before production starts. We'll refund the deposit less the measure fee, design work completed and any materials ordered specifically for your project.
  2. Except where required by law, the deposit is non-refundable once production starts or materials have been ordered for your project. Custom cabinetry is made to your measurements and can't be resold.
  3. If your agreement is a direct sales contract under Alberta's Consumer Protection Act (for example, signed in your home), you have the cancellation rights that Act provides. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law.

5. Changes

Changes after you approve the final drawings must be agreed in writing. If a change affects price or schedule, we'll confirm both before making it. Changes after production starts may not be possible or may cost more.

6. Schedule

  1. Typical timelines: design 1–2 weeks, production 3–5 weeks, installation 2–8 days, stone countertops 1–3 weeks after cabinets are installed.
  2. Install times quoted on our website are installation only. Production and delivery add to them.
  3. Dates in your agreement are our best estimate. We'll tell you as soon as we know of a delay. We aren't responsible for delays caused by suppliers, site conditions, other trades, weather or events outside our control, but we'll do our best to limit them.

7. Your responsibilities

  1. Give us safe, clear access to the work area during agreed hours.
  2. Make sure walls, floors and services are ready as agreed: demolition complete, drywall finished, rough-ins in place.
  3. Tell us about hidden pipes, wires or structural issues you're aware of.
  4. Arrange and pay for permits where required, unless our agreement says we will.

8. Work we don't do

We do not perform plumbing, electrical, gas or drywall work. Where needed, we coordinate licensed partner trades. Their work is covered by their own terms, licences and warranties.

9. Warranty

Our warranty covers cabinet boxes for 5 years, countertops for 5 years, Blum hardware for 10 years and installation for 2 years, as set out on our warranty page and in your agreement. It does not cover damage from water, misuse, normal wear, or changes made by others.

10. Natural materials and finishes

Wood, veneer and stone vary in colour and grain, and samples may differ slightly from finished pieces. This variation isn't a defect.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the work concerned. We aren't liable for indirect losses such as loss of use or rental costs. This doesn't limit liability that can't be excluded by law.

12. Disputes

If something goes wrong, contact us first at office@borealkitchens.ca. We'll try to resolve it directly. If we can't, either party may use the courts of Alberta.

13. Website use

Content and photos on this website belong to Boreal or are used with permission. Don't copy them for commercial use without our consent. We try to keep the website accurate but don't guarantee it is free of errors.

14. Privacy

How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
