Misuse and impact
Standing on cabinets, overloading shelves, hot pots on countertops, cutting directly on surfaces, impact chips.

Normal wear
Gradual wear of finishes from daily use, small scratches, fading from direct sunlight and the natural colour change of wood.

Changes by others
Work by other trades or DIY changes to our cabinets, hardware or countertops, and damage caused by house settling or moving walls.

Wrong cleaning products
Damage from abrasive cleaners, solvents, bleach or steam cleaners on fronts and countertops.
06Not a defect
Natural variation
Differences in grain, veining and colour in wood, granite and quartzite compared with samples. That is the nature of the material.

How to make a cabinet warranty claim

Send photos and a short note
Email info@borealkitchens.ca with your name, address, what is wrong, and two or three photos or a short video.

We reply
We look at the photos and reply with the next step. Many hinge and drawer issues can be fixed with a 2-minute adjustment we can talk you through.
- 03
Site visit if needed
If it needs hands on, we book a visit to inspect and fix it, or order the replacement part.
- 04
Fix and confirm
Covered work is done at no charge. If something isn't covered, we tell you the cost before doing anything.

Care
Help your cabinets last
Most problems we see come from water and heat. A few habits make a big difference.
- Wipe spills at the sink edge and dishwasher right away
- Run the kettle and slow cooker away from upper cabinets
- Use a mild soap and a soft cloth, never abrasive pads
- Use trivets for hot pans, even on quartz
- Tell us early if a door starts to drop; a quick adjustment prevents wear

Warranty questions
01Is the warranty in writing?+
Yes. Terms are part of your project agreement and you get a copy at handover.
02Who installs warranty repairs?+
Our own team. We are licensed in the City of Edmonton (licence 9919234), carry $2,000,000 CGL insurance and are WCB covered.
03What if I need a repair that isn't covered?+
We still help. Service calls are $150 for the first hour, then $95 per hour plus parts, and we confirm the cost first.
