DWG-028.02 · Why built-in
Why built-in

Built-in cabinets fit the wall, not the other way round

Freestanding furniture leaves gaps at the ceiling, at the sides and behind the TV where cables collect. A built-in is designed to the inch, then scribed on site to walls that are rarely straight, so it reads as part of the room.

We design every built-in in 3D first, so you see proportions and finishes before anything is cut. Then we build it in Edmonton and install it with our own team.

Price a media wall

Media walls are our most requested built-in. Set the wall width and style for a realistic range.

DWG-028.05 · How we design
How we design

Three things that make a built-in look built in

01

Proportion

Shelf spacing, door widths and the TV position are set from the room, not a standard module. We draw it before we quote the final price.

02

Scribing

Edmonton walls and ceilings are rarely flat. We leave scribe allowance on every edge and fit it on site, so there's no gap to caulk.

03

Finish matching

Same Egger panels and veneers as our kitchens. A TV wall can match the kitchen across an open floor plan.

Built-in questions

01How much do custom built-ins cost in Edmonton?+

Most built-ins we make are $4,000–$18,000 installed, CAD, before GST. A bookcase wall or console-style TV unit sits at the low end; floor-to-ceiling media and fireplace walls in veneer at the high end. Final price after on-site measure.

02Do built-ins add value to a house?+

We won't promise resale numbers. What we can say: built-ins that fit well and use durable materials look like part of the house, not like furniture the next owner has to remove.

03Can you move a built-in if we sell?+

It's built for one wall. Parts can be reused, but plan on it staying with the house.

04Who runs the wiring for a TV wall or fireplace?+

We don't do electrical or gas. We design cable routes and openings, and a licensed electrician or gas fitter does the connections. We coordinate with your trades or ours.

05How long does a built-in take?+

Design 1–2 weeks, production 3–6 weeks depending on finish, then 2–4 days to install.
